Name: Mike Seitzinger City: Lawrenceville, IllinoisHow did you use the TurboDrop® Nozzle? "Farmer owned sprayer using TDCFFP 110-05 (20" spacing) replacing flat fan nozzles. Switching to 110-08 (30" spacing) this year." Which crops? "Corn, Wheat, Seed Corn, Beans & Snap Beans." Chemical Rate: "We did not adjust rates because of changing nozzles." Sprayer speed, pressure: "12-16 mph @ 40-90psi." Did you use TurboDrop® differently from the way you have used other nozzles? If so, how? "We wanted a nozzle better at higher pressures." Were there obvious differences? "Yes. Psi above 60lbs did not drift as much." Was coverage better/worse/the same? "Unknown." Was chemical efficacy better/worse/the same? "No side by side test done." What advantages did TurboDrop® offer in the following categories? DRIFT: "Much better at pressures above 60psi." SPRAYER SPEED: "No change." WIND SPEED: "We can spray and keep chemicals on target in higher wind speeds than before." WATER USAGE: "No change." CHEMICAL USAGE: "No change." COVERAGE: "No testing done." PENETRATION: "We feel it should be better when we can use the higher pressures."Will the TurboDrop® nozzle pay for itself? (Is this technology cost-effective?) "By keeping the chemicals on target, I hope so."
