AirMix® Test Data

Summary of Research With Drift Reduction Nozzles
James L. Griffin, Professor
Agronomy Department
LSU AgCenter

Roundup UltraMax Efficacy as Affected by Nozzle Type and Spray Volume

Conclusion: ...Greenleaf AirMix® nozzles were equally effective in controlling weeds when applied in either 3 or 8 GPA, and control was no less than that obtained with the XR TeeJet® nozzle at 10 GPA

Overall conclusion: ...Roundup efficacy is not sacrificed when spray volume is reduced to 3 GPA with....Greenleaf AirMix® nozzles. However, when a standard XR TeeJet® nozzle is used, spray volume can be reduced to a point where weed control is sacrificed. Roundup application using XR TeeJet nozzles at 3 GPA resulted in reduced control of both barnyard grass and hemp sesbania. [Spray pressure - 30 psi (ground speed was varied to match the GPA)]
